Note: this study evaluated Muratova's taxa (subsp. faba - with varieties: minor, equina and major - and subsp. paucijuga) and it found that vegetative characters used to distinguish them were "practically unimportant" while seed and pod characters allowed their distinction; since this study showed the lack of fertility barriers among the sample of those taxa (except minor) it suggested the grouping of them under "one subspecies"
